When real estate developer George Bluth Sr. is arrested, his son Michael is left trying to keep the family business and the family itself from collapsing. That means managing his mother Lucille, his magician brother Gob, his sister Lindsay and her husband Tobias, and his youngest brother Buster, all of whom are used to money they no longer have.
Michael's son George Michael and his cousin Maeby add a quieter layer of awkward comedy. Narrated by Ron Howard, the show is packed with running jokes, callbacks, and foreshadowing that reward repeat viewing.
Arrested Development won the Emmy for outstanding comedy series in its first season but struggled in the ratings. FOX ended it after three seasons, and Netflix revived it years later.
