Parks and Recreation is a mockumentary about the parks department of Pawnee, Indiana, a small town with big problems. Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, is a deputy director who believes in public service with her whole heart, and her boss, Ron Swanson, believes the government should do as little as possible.
The department is full of memorable coworkers: deadpan intern April Ludgate, lovable slacker Andy Dwyer, would-be mogul Tom Haverford, and Leslie's best friend, nurse Ann Perkins. Budget-minded Ben Wyatt and relentlessly healthy Chris Traeger arrive from the state government, and Donna, Jerry, and the unstoppable Jean-Ralphio round out the town.
Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, the show grew into one of the warmest comedies on television over seven seasons on NBC.
