Curb Your Enthusiasm stars Seinfeld co-creator Larry David as a fictionalized version of himself, a wealthy, semi-retired TV writer in Los Angeles who cannot let any small slight go. A dinner party, a sample at an ice cream shop, or a stranger's choice of parking spot can spiral into a full episode of escalating disasters.
Larry's manager and best friend Jeff Greene, Jeff's furious wife Susie, Larry's patient wife Cheryl, and Leon Black, the houseguest who moves in and never leaves, are the core of the cast. Most of the dialogue is improvised from a story outline, which gives the show its loose, real-life feel.
Curb began as an HBO special in 1999 and ran for twelve seasons, wrapping up in 2024.
